While this analysis and explanation does not make purchasing gasoline here for higher prices more comforting, it does reveal the causes, and weakens the mostly conspiratorial case made that lax enforcement and price fixing are to blame. I wonder if there will be any political pressure from constituents to change the way Georgia calculates some of the taxes applied to gasoline. I’m betting not, because it is an issue that requires research and thought. Voters tend to be averse to both in this part of the world.
