OfficeMax bids farewell to mail-in rebates

I have never been a fan of rebates so I am glad to see them being phased out. I imagine that this will mean less great deals but on the other had if Office Max can compete without rebates that is sure to boost their sales volume. At least until other stores follow suit.

    Yah, even the Staples Easy Rebates are a bit of a pain. Both Costco and Staples have the best rebate system though. Everything online, nothing to send in, but you still have to wait for your money…

    The whole rebate thing has really gone to pot anyway. A few years ago you could get rebates that made products free, or even better than free, they would send you more money than you paid for the product… Alas I think the days of never paying for blank CD-R or DVD-R media are gone…
