What everybody already knew…

One real gem in this USATODAY article is the bit on the left "Swanson's Unwritten Rules", great advice there.

What will those zaney Mexicans think up next? Cuitlacoche.

Someone actually tried these things!

 What
with all the attention given recently here to Astroglide, I came across
this and thought the same audience might appreciate it.  It is
frank in its content and will be considered sexist by some.  I've
seen ads for these kinds of products for years, heard a few brief news
reports on the radio, but never had an interest in trying them or
seeking out someone who has actually tried these products.

alternative sources of information

Thursday, April 13th, 2006

These are sites I've recently found that offer varying points of
view, mostly what I would call more progressive views than are
typically found on the larger TV news outlets, or in most of our
nation's newspapers.  Some of the columnists and cartoonists are
syndicated and found in some newspapers, but a few I've not read
elsewhere.  Even if you don't agree with their reasoning or
conclusions, it is always a good idea to seek a variety of views in
order to make better, more informed decisions.  Simply listening
to those with whom you already agree results in a closed loop.
This loop results in a closed mind and those do not make good decisions.

State to state 1010 telephone rate comparison

Monday, April 10th, 2006

It has been a long time since I looked at long distance rates (Usually just use the cell phone) unfortunately the sound quality and delay on a dual cell call is just plain annoying…

This is the site I always used to select a 1010 company in the past 1010PhoneRates.com.

At least one broadcasting company is trying something new.

ABC to offer full versions of shows online. Now if only the RIAA and MPAA could get their heads out of their collective ani.

I wonder how long before someone comes up with a way to bypass the commercials.

Study: You can lower the odds of being outsourced – Computerworld

Tuesday, April 4th, 2006

This article seems a little wishy washy on the issue. From my own observations, let me try to sum up. If you want to avoid being outsourced but stay in the IT industry, become a manager. If you feel that programming is your one true love then move to a different country, or learn how to get government grant money for making origami out of printouts of your code…
