Ok, I thought this was settled 25 years ago
The Amityville Horror is fake, and has always been fake. The funny thing is every time it resurfaces, it comes with the insinuation that it’s a true story. I couldn’t believe that once again the advertising for the latest version of the film contains the words “Based on a true story“. MGM must hope their primary audience is either too old (memory loss) or too young (not born yet) to remember.
